Hi Sheridan L!
Haha, the forensic scientist of the family is my 17 year old daughter who is a Sophmore in college here. She is special as I think the medical field is. She doesn't get sick or grossed out... she is truly interested and looks at it like an engineer!

I am an IT Systems engineer, that job is definetly not for me!! Hopefully my daughter will find jobs when she interns. She is excited about your college =-)

We are a mellow family who likes animals alot (two trained German Shepherd and two kid owned cats), playing outside and work so hard we pass out by 10! The job market is my biggest concern but we really want the home town, mountains (the men in the family love hiking, camping and shooting. Husband is an expert marksman that made my 17 year old son do all the safety classes before getting to shoot).

The previous posts on jobs was great! Thanks guys! Lots of military stuff out there!

I have a question, would it be better to start forwarding my resume now with a CA address/phone or wait until I drive up next week and get local contact info?

It does at times. View is our street after one of the storms around Christmas of '06. We also live in Monument which will usually get the worst of winter weather

DH has been a guest lecturer at UCCS for the forensic science classes under Virgina Lynch. The forensic program at UCCS is the best on this side of the Mississippi. I am not sure if Virginia and Standing Bear (her husband's real name) are still faculty at UCCS, but I sure hope so. Virginia and her colleagues are so awesome that they jump at the opportunity to take student interns with them around the world in hopes to help educate the rest of the world in forensic science. Opportunites like going to third world countries (Africa), India, in addition he had the opportunity to go NYC for 9/11 and help identify bodies and parts in addition to help teach others how to do so (which he declined). The staff at UCCS in this area are so well known that the cases you learn about and get the opportunity to be part of are remarkable! I remember when Jon Benet's case broke and the presentation they did on it.
If your child is hoping for opportunities at UCCS in forensics, she (he??) will definitely get it.

Yes, that was a cool pic....probably zero degrees that day, or close to it.

Have a safe trip. Stay on line with us if you can.

FYI, this weekend is the hot air balloon festival downtown at Memorial Park.
