Since out DS started kindergarden now, Hubby and I wanna take the chance and go out for a real good breakfast place. Please no chain crap...something more stylish but not overly expensive. Maybe with seating outside. Anything you guys can recommend?

I'm not real big on Breakfast, but can recommend the Omelet Parlor on Fillmore. I also like Gunther Toody's. It's not fancy -- we're talking traditional Diner-style breakfasts -- but it's cheap and delicious.

Try the Omelet Parlor (trying to remember exactly where it's at... I'm thinking North Nevada/Filmore area?)

There is Wade's Cafe, at 3858 Village Seven Rd, in a strip mall found in the 3500 block of N Academy Blvd (a few blocks below/south of Austin Bluffs Pkwy) by the old Penrose Community Hospital. Not a chain. Breakfast and omelets are great, they close at 2PM each day. Real food.

There is La Baguette, a local chain of 4 places, each independently owned but getting baked goods from the one over in Old Colorado City. Website: La Baguette Bakery, Colorado Springs

There is Egg & I, a chain, but a very good one, also closes at 2PM. Website: Breakfast and Lunch, Egg and I Restaurants

There is Olive Branch, lots of organic food, local folks, 23 S. Tejon St. Website: The Olive Branch - fine dining

Then there is The Broadmoor, a 5-star legendary resort with 11 restaurants. Sunday brunch is beyond belief. A must-do!

Old World Bagel off of I25 and Circle (Target shopping center) has simple breakfast- eggs, ham, sausage on a bagel, in addition to just bagels, coffee, smoothies, etc.

I also enjoy Montague's Parlour as a coffee house. Granted, they serve up pastries and lunch items like sandwiches and salads, but you never know when the two of you just want to sit down for atmosphere and coffee.
Poor Richards also has a coffee house downtown.

You might laugh at these suggestions, but hey, you never know what you are in the mood for...
Whole Foods has some good breakfast...in addition to some lunch choices.
Steak and Bake in the MALL, yes, I said in the MALL serves breakfast, large portions and country style cooking. No crowd, only morning walkers who do a few laps in the mall.

My favorite smoothie place for breakfast is CHICKs down in Security by the FarmCrest. Their Red Razzleberry is so divine! Everyone who tastes it just melts and is addicted.

Breakfast seems to be hard to come by here in the Springs...

Adam's Mountain Cafe (broken link)

Try the iced tea - yummmm. It's spicy but sweet with no sweetener in it.

I forgot: They use as many organic and natural ingredients as they possibly can. Mostly vegetarian but there are a couple of items for the carnivore in the rest of us.
