Actually, Parker Rd from E-470 to I-225 is getting worse and worse.... they have put up a lot of new homes, big shopping centers, etc along there (especially at Arapahoe Rd) and the last few times I have been that direction it's been very congested. That being said, 83 could be a good alternative if the OP is hesitant about driving on interstates.

Does FREX run on weekends? I'm flying into denver on sunday, I want to go to Colorado Springs that afternoon to meet a friend, but I only see weekday schedules listed on their site. FREX would be perfect, if not hopefully RTD has a route that runs.

Default Ride to Colorado Springs Airport

Does your friend still do this shuttle service? If so, how much? Looking to go to the Colorado Springs Airport tomorrow from the Denver area.
Thanks,
Pam

I couldn't imagine taking a plane from COS to DEN.

Heck, I have a friend that will shuttle you around from C Springs to Denver and back if need be. He is mostly an airport shuttle service but cheaper and quicker and will deliver you door-to-door if you want something different.

He recently suffered a setback in that his old car was plowed by a minivan driver on highway 36 after one of the blizzards when the highway was taken over by blowing snow but if you want to check him out, pm me and I will see if he's up to that.

He's not as cheap as FREX but he's good at personal service and has a new Crown Vic, offers his riders some food, water or juice and gets you to and from.

Just a thought but cheaper and quicker than a plane.

I have taken 83 many times and it is a nice scenic route to be avoided in bad weather and not recommended if you don't like two-lane highways with no median between you and oncoming traffic. It is slower than the I, but people still go 50's and 60's on it. It turns into something akin to Powers Blvd up around the town of Parker - but a bit bigger and more spread out. Also, if you're going somewhere up in Denver that is not on the east side of town, it will add a lot of time to your commute - if you're going to the west side, I would instead recommend that you go up to Monument/Palmer Lake and catch the old highway that goes up by Sedalia to Littleton, etc., if you're looking for the scenic route.
