Hannah...Another good reason
Have you seen the Atlantic hurricane activity?!? First it's crazy Fay, then poor LA gets Gustav, and now we're looking at possibly dealing with Hannah, or Ike, or there's even High probability of yet another development!!!! 
This among many other reasons why we want OUT OF FLORIDA!!!!

I couldn't do Florida. It's hot, it's sticky, the bugs carry you away, and the ocean, while pretty, is useless to me because I can't swim. I thought Iowa was like a swamp, but Florida, ick! The humidity just kills me! Winter is what we moved here for!!!!! Let the snowboarding begin! |

I lived in Florida for more than 10 years, going through many hurricanes, including Andrew.
Florida is the suck.

We only do FL in the winter time, ONLY! I have tried other seasons and no way. So, we stick to winter time, hit Mickey's Merry XMas party, do our timeshare, and get the heck out!
Our neighbors are here from FL, they relocated due to the hurricanes (same season as Katrina). They showed up with their cars and a small trailer Uhaul...they say they will never go back.
