Colleges (Denver, Fort Collins, Boulder: crimes, military, stats)

Hi! So i am planning to attend college somewhere in colorado when i graduate. I really loved colorado springs...alot! it is so beautiful there, but then again thats the only place in Colorado that i have been too(besides Denver) I would absolutley LOVE to go to college there but everyone keeps telling me that colorado spring and fort collins ecspecially is RACIST. im hispanic. Is this true? I am scared of going there now, i just want to enjoy that experience and not have to deal with any racism. I heard Fort Collins had a bigger racism problem that co springs! and i was thinking of attending cort collins as well, but Co Springs is my first choice! well all help is very much appreciated, thanks!!!

I've not heard anything about COS or FC being racist. Shoot, our mayor here in COS is Mr. Lionel Rivera....an hispanic mayor, freely elected in a city that's only about 16% hispanic....check the % on the other side of city-data.

I've seen nothing in our newspapers or TV news regarding any sort of hate crimes or racism here... there must be stats on this somewhere...

COS is a big military town, very diverse, everyone's welcome.

FC is a college town, bound to be diverse and a bit liberal to boot.

I'd say pick the best college for you...go to that one, be it in COS, FC, Boulder or ???

I have a hispanic friend that went to CSU in Fort Collins and he didn't mention anything about racism. He just said it was really cold up there. I am hispanic just out of college and I just accepted a job in CS and will be moving there at the end of May. I've visited both places and neither seemed to be a problem. Hopefully I can meet some people in there mid twenties and make some friends soon.
