I went to Wade's a few months ago for lunch and I was disappointed. But if someone doesn't mind a bar scene with the ocassionally beer smell check out Frankie's. They have great food and always fresh. And it gets really crowded at lunch time. Burger City is pretty darn good and of course Bird Dog.

If you feel like getting 'out of town' for a bit then head on up to Palmer Lake (just 20 mi. north on Hwy 105). The speedtrap cafe serves really good joe and even turns into a low-key music lounge/bar at night. You can take a leisurely stroll around the lake while you're at it.

I've never eaten lunch at Wade's, just breaksfast and it was great. Frankie's does have very good food.

I will have to give Wade's another try this time it will be for breakfast. So I guess you like Egg and I too huh? It is good there also. Fankie's just needs a facelift but it does so good with the regulars I don't think they really need too. Oh I forgot to mention that Black Bear dinner is a good choice if you are really hungry and want it to taste good too!

What about all the bars on Tejon that you're missing? Rumbay, Cowboys, South Side Johnny's, the Ritz?

I'll vote for South Side Johnny's but otherwise I stay away from downtown. When I went to Palmer in the 60's we used to go to Woolworth's (the five and dime store) after school for a REAL cherry coke at the soda fountain. They were served in a coke glass with paper straws, Ahhhhh those were the days... I mention this because it was a (good) flash back of downtown.

Alot of the bars downtown are now fight clubs! I like Golden Bee, Hatch Cover, the Ritz (when I was single), Southsides (mature crowd) but honestly alot of let me down now. I was trying to talk about places to eat some good food so sorry I left out some of the bars. Hey another cool place I use to run at was Benny's on Colorado Rd.

Benny's Is that place still there? I pulled my ex off of a bar stool by the back of his head one night when I was 8.9 months pregnant and he wouldn't leave.

Yeah, i know what you mean about fight clubs. Last 2 times I went Rumbay I got in a fight, but partly because I can't keep my mouth shut.
