I would pack everything I could today and head to Colorado Springs-if the timing were right. Looks like we may get the chance by May 2008. *fingers crossed*. We will rent for a year or so until we get the lay of the land. I've seen some great rentals advertised at really reasonable prices. I can hardly wait. I crave a mountain view. I've had enough of the Atlantic Ocean and the heat to last me a lifetime. Wish me luck!!

you said that u guys were renting right? what is the average a month to rent there. We don not want to spend more then 6-700monthly. we have three children so we are also curious about schools, not to mention are family is multiracial, black and white. is it diverse there? How about jobs, I am mostly clerical and my husband is more labor. Meat packaging and stuff like that. Is it hard to find jobs?

Your rental budget is a tad low, but you might find something here.

No large meat packers here, though a small one that does bison and cattle. A really BIG meat plant in Greeley, CO (Swift).

Best schools are D20, D12, D38, and various schools in D11. Not sure about districts on south side of town.

I have an aptfinder booklet. With 3 kids , you'll need a 3bed apt. They run $850/mo and up.
