First, I am not advocating legislative gun control. I maintain a neutral stance when it comes to any sort of political involvement, so you can be sure that I'll never block your right to bear arms even though I choose not to.

Second, if I answered that question directly on this thread it would raise an even bigger ruckus and probably get the thread shut down. But, here's a hint: Isaiah 2:4

Most police officers forced to shoot are doing it for the first time, and they fare OK as a result of their training. Pretty much all of the hundreds of successful self-defense cases in the Texas study were first-time events. 90% of the battle is being prepared and knowing what you're going to do before you pick up the weapon.

One thing for sure, though...if you're unarmed and in the unhappy position of being confronted by an armed attacker, it's pretty much his call as to what happens to you. I, personally, want to have a vote in the outcome beyond having to beg a scumbag to be nice.

I'm not just venting and I'm honestly interested in a solution here. I want to see people not get their homes invaded by bad guys with guns. If that means everybody on the block watching what's going on and having 15 good people stick 15 guns in one bad guy's face, so be it.

If you want to get biblical on me and threaten to shut down my thread, you already did that to me, so it would be nothing new. Someone started a thread about "how conservative is CoSprings" or maybe it was something about "how easy is it to hook up with non-Christian women" or something and when it took too much of a "religious" slant, the Mod warned us to watch it or take matters to the Religion forum after you complained about the biblical talk.

But since you bring it up, what does Jesus say about us being able to "govern" ourselves? And what are we going to do about these home invasions?

You CAN wear a sidearm while shoveling snow. Open carry is legal in almost all of Colorado, no permit required. It's carrying concealed that you need the permit for.

Oh and have you guys been watching the news lately? 3 Robberies in Colorado springs in the same day...people getting held up, kidnapped at gun point and pistol whipped...Man gunned down while SHOVELING SNOW!?!?

And some wonder why I feel the need to carry a gun?

I won't be a victim, and neither will any members of my family.

I'm not trying to 'get Biblical' on you, only to answer your question. Neither am I threatening to shut the thread down. I don't have power to do that if I wanted to. However, mods usually shut threads down on here when they turn religious or political (that's in the rules when you sign up). I'm just trying to stick to the rules, so like I said, if you'd like to discuss the matter further, just message me directly and we should have no problem.

Really? I wouldn't underestimate yourself. For example, what about this thread? I can't quote it because it's a closed thread. Two posts later, a warning from the mod, then your post again, then two days later, closed. Remember? The thread was called "Anti-Sentiment in Colorado".
