I'm certain there are several posts and threads with special ed schools questions. I don't know too much about them but you should search the treads for particulars.

Do you want your child mainstreamed into the general ed classroom as much as possible with support from an aide or would you rather have your child in a classroom designed for the autism spectrum? No matter what school district you end up in, be sure to advocate your decision and it will be supported. I am a sped teacher in D8 and if you come to the transition meeting stating what you want, we will give it to you with whatever support is needed for your child. Most districts now have a seperate classroom for students who are on the autism spectrum, this is separate than the severe needs room. Our entire area is heavy into putting the kids into the regular education classroom as much as possible. I am not sure how stingy other districts are right now on hiring a para to support your kiddo, but D8 won't hesitate to do so if the need is demonstrated. PM me if you have more questions.

Most growth is currently on the East and North sides of town. You'll see lots of new developments in those areas.

South side may see more growth with more Ft. Carson soldiers coming in but there is not much going on right now in the South.

From Ft. Carson you can easily travel down 115 toward Canon City, anywhere along the I25 corridor, and not too far to Manitou Springs for house hunting with not too far a drive. Cutting across to the Powers road North area and Falcon area is probably the furthest areas from Ft. Carson (Briargate homes near I25 actually takes less time.)

Thank you for the recent posts regarding help for our son and where growth is occurring! I am curious if the person who likes cheeze-its would like extra cheddar or parmesean?
