There are also many who live in the Fountain Valley area, a growing area on the southern end of town. It is closer to Fort Carson, but not as new as the northern end like Briargate. The high school gives the students a free laptop to use. It is a good high school as well. With your price range for a home, you can essentially pick any home of your choosing because the higher end homes top out at that price range. Please look at Oakwood Homes for a new home. The area you are looking for is Cumberland Greens. Fort Carson is about 10-15 minutes away. If you are interested in a home that is already built, use PPAR Website and it will direct you to the website that realtors use for all homes that are available in the area. However, realtors have a sign in that gives them more info than the public has.
Good luck and I think you would love the area!

You should look at Pueblo, we have a great public school system the cost of living is much lower then Colorado Springs and we have the states fastest growing University, Colorado State University - Pueblo. Not to mention the best climate, not to cold in the winter and the snow we gets usually melts in a day or two and not to hot in the summer and finally we never have traffic jams and we are only a 20 minute drive from Fort Carson and the new development, Pueblo Springs, will only be a 5 minute drive from Fort Carson.

If you have any questions about Pueblo I would be more then happy to answer them...

I am surprised at your comment about D60s schools- all the teachers/admin that I know who have been there can't stand it. In fact, one teacher who is supposed to retire in 4 yrs couldn't stand it anymore and left to work in D8...even though she took a salary hit (because districts will only accept 8 yrs of experience on the pay scale). The administrators that I know hate it hate it hate it. On the other hand, I am glad to hear that someone likes it- your the first person I have "met" who does.

I can just go by personal experience and I got a great education at Central high school, had a great time there too, that allowed me go on and eventually get a MBA at the University of San Diego....

So you are referring to the system years ago and not for present day, that makes more sense.

That was in the 1990's, not that long ago. And our school system still puts out good students. I have a friend who is a corporate attorney in Chicago, graduated high school around 2000. I would prefer to send my kid to a Pueblo high school over any private school.
Also, look at CSU - Pueblo, it is the fastest growing university in the state and in my opinion only a matter of time before they over take UCCS as they are hampered by being so close to the Air Force Academy, they do not want to compete and will never add football etc.

Does anyone have any comments on the Northeast Subdivision: Antelope Meadows area? There is a home that my husband and I have our eye on. Any input?
