It's not particularly known as a steakhouse, but I recently tried the New South Wales Restaurant. It was really pretty good with combination steak and seafood plates.

Gads, we enjoy all 3 of those eateries, Saltgrass included, never felt skunked at any of them.

I agree, the wait staff was too buddy buddy and the steak was just okay. Texas Roadhouse is my best choice for a reasonably priced meal.

Finally tried it tonight. Excellent meal all the way around. Best Caesar salad I ever had, great bread, perfect filet.

Old school place, dark wood, etc. Steadily circulating waitstaff and cocktail waitress, never have to wait long for service.

Sunbird is good. The views are the best in town by a mile.

Zebs and 3 Thieves are gone

McKenzie's chop house downtown is awesome.

I agree. Went there a few weeks ago for the 2nd time. My husband made reservations online. The service is supreme. I love that they wait to put your order in until after you've had your salad. The timing is perfect. The filet was cooked just the way I like (they call it Medium Good). I don't mind the option for a salad bar versus a premade salad from the kitchen. If I had to pick something to complain about, it would be the decor, but it really keeps things comfortable and non-stuffy.
