Default Safe walking parks?

We live just south of downtown and would like recommendations for nice/clean/safe parks with paved paths for walking. We have checked out Memorial but it was not very clean or safe feeling. We have been to America the Beautiful as well and it was mostly middle age homeless men, which does not make a woman pushing a baby stroller too comfortable. Any other suggestions?

I wouldn't send my wife out alone with a baby stroller anywhere south of downtown. I'd suggest Bear Creek Park to the west off of 21st Street a little ways south of Hwy-24; that seems like the best option to me.

I feel perfectly safe all over the Springs, except perhaps where the drunk militaries are.

So you have seen the Life Skills Center HS students there at Memorial huh? Lol...not the most law abiding students but man do they have life stories to share!!
Anyhow, when I was a stay at home mom, walking the stroller...I walked Fountain Creek Regional Park, the nature trail when it wasn't so stinky (man has it gotten yucky!), strolled Manitou and its park, and our neighborhood (Heritage). I always wanted to pull up the parks list and explore each and every one...
let us know what you find!

The path is not paved but perfectly fine for strollers: try Quail Lake Park. When we still used to live close by I would go there with the stroller all the time. Loved it there. Other than that I'd also recommend Bear Creek Park..just across the street from the playground (next to the Penrose Equesterian Center) is a pretty nice size trail system...not paved again though..and I wouldn't go around dusk. I ran into a few coyotes there one time

I would recommend giving America the Beautiful Park another try... We take our kids there and Memorial for the most part. Occassionally Bear Creek as well. I really like the Bear Creek Nature Center off of Gold Camp Road alot as well... The safest place for a stroller walk would be at the Broadmoor. Just park your car nearby, possibly at the church just west of the Broadmoor and walk in... Can't ask for a better walk than at the Broadmoor. (No dogs allowed though)

I take my daughter for walks at Monument Valley Park and also the down by Bonn Shopping center (don't remember the name of the park) at the end of Weber St. Memorial park and America the Beautiful aren't the best parks around. Also Bear Creek Park is really nice to and also Red Rock Trail.
