My family and I will relocate to Colorado Springs in July. From what I've read here and elsewhere, it sounds like we're really going to like it there.

We are particularly interested in finding out about the local sports scene for our children. My 9 year old son is interested in football and baseball (he has also played hockey and wrestled). Is there a league for any of these sports in Colorado Springs? How competitive/good are they? Any links would be greatly appreciated.

My 5 year old daughter is interested in gymnastics or cheerleading. Given her age, I'm not sure cheeriing is an option yet, but gymnastics probably is. I'd appreciate any information on these sports as well. Thank you in advance.

Gymnastics: "Aerials" is a great place as well as "Art Sports" which is more trampoline focused. Both very good places!

YMCA has a lot of options just as it does in every town...

We had the same questions and had to get answers from others in our area. I'd say it depends on where you end up living as to what programs are available and good.

We are in Falcon area and now know that Falcon Football League is where to play fall ball (COS Parks and Rec apparently has a spring football program where boys from here play if they don't play baseball). High Plains Little League is a strong baseball league operating in our area.

D49 had a great elementary basketball program within the schools. I was very pleased with the level of coaching and coordination. Even a tournament at the end.
