Manitou Springs too far?
Hola!
I am moving from Missoula, MT to Colorado Springs the beginning of next month. I have been looking for a small 1 - 2 bedroom house with a fenced yard area for my pups. A lot of places that are popping up on Craigslist are in Manitou Springs. I wanted to know if this is an unreasonable distance from Colorado Springs to drive everyday for work.
Google maps says it's 11 1/2 miles or so. Which doesn't seem too bad...but you never know until you live there.
Also...any other websites I should be looking for rentals?
Thank you for your help!

You know, I don't know yet.
My move from Missoula was supposed to happen in March, but has been jumped up to the end of this month. Which, quite frankly, I am really excited about. However, it does mean I have to make some things happen sooner rather than later. Like find a job and a place to live soon. =) Very exciting.

Although I live in Canon City and have a 2 mile round trip,...I would say that a drive from Manitou to the Springs is a "no brainer"!!
I would do it in a heartbeat! Don't worry...you will love it and be fine!!

Thank you!!
I really can't wait! It's going to be great. Site unseen - I still know I am going to love the Springs and that it will be good to me.

Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs actually adjoin each other, not more than 4-5 miles at most from one town center to the other. Don't overlook homes in the west side of COLO SPGS, known as Old Colorado City (OCC). The main drag of Colorado Ave runs west out of downtown COLO SPGS, through OCC and right into Manitou Springs. OCC doesn't get the seasonal tourist load, nor does it have the parking issues and tight quarters of Manitou. OCC has a decent vibe, lots of good eateries and shops. If I had to pick between the two, I'd take OCC.

Honestly, I am so excited to be moving out of Missoula that I could care less where I end up living in the Springs (as long as it isn't the SE because that's what these forums have taught me since I began reading them).
These forums are so much more informative than anything else I have found. It's unbelievably useful.
