Gold Hill Mesa is a nice community built on the traditional neighborhood philosophies. Homes there usually cost around $300K - $500K. My neighborhood, Spring Creek (also built on the same philosophies) has homes from $150K to $400K and we are only about 10-15 miles from Carson and 5-10 minutes to downtown. We have one of the only builders in the area still building homes as well. You should check out their website: Ron Covington Homes - Spring Creek in Colorado Springs

On my block, which has 24 homes on it, 15 are owned by military families (I'm not one by the way) but we love our military families here. They are great people to have in the neighborhood.

Ouch . . . must be pretty quiet around your neighborhood then. Recorded new home closings for the first 11 months of 2008 for all builders in Colorado Springs, Ron Covington ranks in a tie for 65th place with 2 closings.

Ron Covington is a small builder so in total closings, I'm not surprised at all... It has been nice to see activity with them here and their homes look great. That is surprising number to see though since the majority of the builders are not doing anything (John Laing, Beazer, Pulte, Today's Homes, Richmond) Everyone is pretty stagnant. Where did you get your numbers anyway?

Also, to my knowledge they did not even have any homes built at all until around August or so, now that I see you said in the first 11 months. Do you have any statistics about the last month or something more relevant? Tough to compare with the company did not begin until the end of 2007.

Fountain is not a high crime area. It has kind of a small-town feel.

They might have only been a company under the name of Ron Covington homes since 2007, but if you look at the history of Ron, he's been around for many years. He already had a home building company
that was bought by John Laing many yaers ago, ran that division for 7 years and left to start Roncovingtonhomes. This might not make much since to your point, I just thought it was intresting to know. you can find that info on www.roncovingtonhomes.com under Ron's bio
