I'm specifically interested in things like goose, rabbit, and venison. I'm most interested in the rabbit. My husband loves it, and I would really like to be able to find it fresh and locally (not frozen and shipped) so I could make it for him. Can anyone help? I've not had much luck looking online. We just moved here, and it's winter, so I can't go to the farmer's market to look.

Thank you!

I am coming up blank on the name, but if you travel Hwy 24 west past woodland park and past Divide, Co you come to a road called Lower Twin Rocks Rd/CR 42. There is a farm on the right side about 4 miles down That has rabbits for sale. They are alive and perhaps they might slaughter for you. If I can think of the name I will send it to you later.

Thanks Bub, that's helpful and I would definitely appreciate it if you do remember the name. If they aren't cleaned, that's fine, there are places here that would do it. I just can't find them in the first place!

Josseppie, I'm not looking for a restaurant where I could find these meats, I know I could, but I'm more interested in finding the meat to prepare at home.

Thank you both for your help!

Half the backyards in Colorado Springs have rabbit!

Our rental had a fox den and rabbit bones.

This is a really good question. I have only seen frozen rabbit the few times I've come across it.

I haven't found CoS that great on the food front.

Contact the local 4-H Club, some of them raise rabbits. The El Paso County Extension office might know some sources. If all else fails, post a want-ad in Craigslist. I remember seeing huge rabbits at the state fair in Pueblo the other year. Here are some pix to whet your appetite.
