Salsa Latina on Rio Grand between Tejon and Cascade. Absolutely THE best! The Avocado Pork Burrito (APB) is to die for. Smothered of course.

I hate to be a downer here, but I was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. The Mexican food here is less than satisfactory compared to there. The best Mexican here IMHO is Monica's or other similar places. There used to be a place called the Queen Bean on Circle (Valley Hi GC is right behind the fence) but they changed names. That place was pretty good. You walked in and it was dark with Naugahyde booths and it somewhat reminded me of an old Abq. restaurant or something.

I'm sorry. Well, at least you're in Colorado now!

Come to Pueblo and try the Polk special at my favorite place in town; Martinez Cafe. You won't be so homesick!

Hungry for some homeade salsa?

How about a little Coflower's or my Green?

While you're scouring all the restaurants in Colorado Springs for your favorite Mexican place, add Alice's Mexican Cuisine to your list. I loved it there. And their Tres Leches dessert is delicious.

Went there and smothered APB was worth the trip. Tiny place, middle of the block, very few seats, VERY friendly people on both sides of the counter. Chili Relleno's on certain days and Menudo once per month.

I was in Manitou Springs in 99(I know it's a while ago, I'm hoping the restaurant is still around), and we found this fantastic little place for breakfast, but I can't find it on the maps anymore.
It looked like an old storefront, but there was a patio beside it, not visible from the street, and you got to the patio by walking through the kitchen. The patio also overlooked a big raven.
We had a breakfast of a rolled up omelette(with nothing in it), served on a bed of potatoes, the whole thing covered in green chili, with sour creme, and pico de gallo on top.
Does this restaurant sound familiar to anyone? Does anyone know if it's still around? I'm going back this summer, and want to find it again.
