Good high schools in Colorado Springs?
I've lived in Colorado Springs for 4 years and I've been to three high schools Rampart HS, Aspen Valley HS, and Life Skills Center and I didn't really like those schools that much. I just wanted to get peoples opinions on these three schools. They are Liberty, Sand Creek, and Doherty. Im thinking about going to one of those schools so I wanted to get info on them.

Vista Ridge off of Dublin/Powers is a brand new High School and is very, very good. My daughter attends and loves it. Just freshman and sophomores this year...and adding one grade for the next two years. Vista Ridge - Home of the Wolves

I'm not sure what would be so different about the three schools you mentioned compared to Rampart. What is it that you didn't like about the schools you mentioned, or what are you wanting in a school that you haven't found yet? I think we'd need more information to help you find what you want. All the ones you've mentioned are D-20 schools except Doherty which is in D-11. Many schools like Doherty have choice application deadlines and some of them may already be past for next year - you'll need to check into that.

Im looking for a good school environment where I can learn but still have fun and not have too much homework. Actually I've decided on going to Liberty, I don't know if I'll be able to get in this year though or not. I live in the area zoned to Rampart, but does anyone know if it would still be possible to get into Liberty this year? The reason I decided on Liberty is one of my really good frineds goes there.

How much homework you have depends on what classes you take, not on what school you go to. If you take the easier classes, you will have less homework but probably be less prepared for college/jobs with fewer college/scholarship opportunities. It seems like you're choosing the school for your friend rather than for your education - in that case, it doesn't matter where you go. You'd have to talk to the admissions people at Liberty to find out about getting in.
