NE part of the Springs. corner of woodmen/powers. here is their website www.villasport.com I joined when it opened and I don't know if membership pricing has changed but i pay $75 for one adult and I think it was much less to add a second adult. Each child was $12 at that time but there was a family cap of a couple of kids I think. it's just me and one child so we pay $87 per month and we spend alot of time there. They have a grill outside during the summer...very fun place!

I know the Y has racquetball, as does Lynmar and Peterson AFB.
Does Villa Sport? Any other clubs offer it that you know of?

My mother let me in on the Lifetime build. I have a membership here in PHX and I can tell you that they are first class. Not cheap, meat markets or manly gyms but very broad in what they offer. About double the cost of some of the more mainstream but worth it if you want quality over the more common yak-jaw clubs that favor social networking to fitness. Here they have a very large daycare offering of some sort- not my gig.

It looks like you may be too far south to be affected but this, but just in case (an in order for me to vent), you should know this:
The Woodmoor Pines Golf and Country Club purchased FitStop and Anytime Fitness in Monument during 2008, and then raised all their rates by at least 30% starting in January of 2009.
When I emailed the membership manager about what was going on, I received no official response for at least a week. When I finally did receive one, it was only to explain why their club was such a great value that it merited the un-forewarned increase despite the lack of a pool, gymnasium and numerous other services which our brand-new YMCA offers for the same rate.
Needless to say, I resigned from WPCCG and then promptly went to Fitness Systems (on Woodmen) to buy a spinner, a rowing machine, dumbell set, incline bench and numerous other goodies which will pay for themselves in a little over one year of not paying membership fees.
So, if you want my advice, especially if you live in or near Monument... I say quit the gym, buy some running shoes and some simple exercise equipment, and begin enjoying a hassle-free, fee-simple workout at home. As a bonus, you'll save a ton of gas, avoid countless hours of driving time, and get away from all the smarmies that frequent most gyms.

Work has stopped, or so it seems. Two weeks ago they put about 20 sq ft of stone up on the concrete walls, nothing since. Weather has been great too, not cold. Walls are up, roof is on, pools are in and full of green water. No activity seen in weeks, most we see is one pickup truck there during the day. Lots of material stacked up outside and inside but nothing doing. Been at this stage for about 6 weeks now, maybe more. Huge place, building seems as big as the Lowe's next door to it on Powers Blvd at Union.
