Default Driving in Colorado Springs

My question is this ........ Why on earth do people in COS seem to not understand that the LEFT LANE is the FAST lane........ ??? Every other state seems to understand and grasp this rule. You will also notice in every other area people will move over or let you pass them ........NOT HERE people slow down or drive slow side by side ...WHAT IS THAT?? Why do people do that ? I dont understand what the big deal is to let someoone past you or can you even imagine someone letting you over withought speeding up so you cant get in front of them hahahahaha to weird sorry just wanted to vent

Hmm... I really think it's like that everywhere, at least everywhere I've lived. It IS annoying, though!

Yes, it seems to be everywhere in the US with the exception of rural roads in Texas in my experience (In Texas, it is very common on two lane roads for people tend to pull onto the edge of the road a bit to allow faster drivers to pass). Living in Germany was really nice - except the Germans would always get upset with American drivers hanging around in the left lane!

Driving side by side to talk might be a California transplant thing!

Not true Everywhere I've driven, with exception of Italy, had people that love to pretend they are the only one on the road and hog the left lane.

Unfortunately, it's like that in Wisconsin too. The one place I've been that's different is NYC. There, the rules are: get to where you're going as fast as possible. Everyone seems to know the rules, and while there is a lot of honking, people don't seem to get angry, they're just in a hurry and it's nothing personal.

I was about to say this really doesn't happen in NY and New England. Yea, you get the occasional left laner, but it's not common.

On the flip side, I really get sick of going 75mph in the passing/left lane, while overtaking the car in the right lane at a decent clip with some OCD "gotta go, gotta go, gotta go" moron who wants to go 90mph riding my bumper as if I"m having a cruise control race with the car next to me in the right lane for the last 3 miles.

I think going 75mph for 10 seconds won't change your life. CHILL OUT.

Then you also get the right lane passers swerving by at 90+ mph because the people in the left lane are going too slow at 80mph. Sigh...

The passing lane is the passing lane period. If you are not passing a car and going 75 you still need to get over if someone wants to pass you. I go 82 when the speed limit is 75 and hate it when people wont get over, that's just rude.

It is probably the most "unenforced" law across the United States. For some reason, many European countries seem to obey the law much more often....but there are places worse than the US in third world countries.

Worst places I've driven: Cairo Egypt, Baghdad Iraq, Rome Italy

Are you sure they have Colorado plates on their car and not Texas.

I'm from East Texas and lived in the Springs for 3 years, (hubby activie duty) Texas plates were the worst drivers. I kid you not.

Did you not pull over a bit to let people pass in Texas as most Texans do? Same thing in Germany - German drivers will get upset at people from the US that hang out in the left lane.
