Cactus
My grandson just fell onto one of the plants growing wild in our yard.
Any hints on getting rid of the plants themselves as well as how to deal with one when "attacked"?
After pulling out the most obvious thorns (he had at least 50 and some clumps of thorns all over his hand), I used some white glue and let it dry, then peeled it off. They weren't too deep and it worked well.

Consider posting a photo of the cactus on Craigslist and offer the plant at no cost, so long as they come to dig it out and take it away.

One of the reasons I have so many of these stupid plants in my yard is my husband thought they were so cool. When we first moved here, he dug them up from fields and transplanted them. He never imagined we would have grandchildren and inherit my son's dog.
I hate cacti!! Or at least outside of the desert.

Being from Arizona and getting ready to move out to COS June 1st, if I never see a cactus again it will be too many! I hate them! I slipped and fell on a round little ball of a cactus about a month ago and got about 45 holes in my side!

What kind of cactus? The prickly pear have tiny little glochids (spines/needles) that detach easily and are difficult to see and remove. Those are a pain. The thick-needled cacti are much easier to deal with, as the needles dont detach as easily. The absolute WORST are the "jumping cholla" cacti... those doggone barbed needles are the ULTIMATE nightmare to get into. UGH!!!!

My cactus had thorns with pink tips going in all different directions. Maybe it will turn me into a Super Hero

The type of cacti are prickly pear. I was wondering if they wash out of clothes easily. I think it was my imagination that I had something pricking me after putting on the same jacket.

Well, be forewarned, there is cactus in Colorado. Small ones. Not jumping, saguaro, or barrel cactus like in AZ. I used to live in Kearny and I hated them. I never did understand how some would purposefully plant one in their yard for decor?! Oh well, to each their own I guess.
