Ultimate Buffet is by far the best. The food is much fresher and bigger selections.

Somebody mentioned to me that Empire and Ultimate are owned by the same family. I'm not sure but either way they are both great. Some friends and I ate at Empire yesterday, they've got a mongolian grill type thing where the guy cooks your noodles, meat and veggies on a hot skillet type thing, like a stir fry. I don't remember Ultimate having that, but the buffet selection at UB is larger.

Following all the raves here about the Empire we went out for dinner there tonight. I am sorry, but I have to say I was disapointed. While the food was not the worst, it certainly wasn't great or even excellent. The "fresh" shrimp were absolutely without any taste...same for some of the fruit. The stuffed mushrooms and baked mussels were...sorry, yuck! Same for the spring rolls and half of my hot dishes were cold.

Not a place we will go again. If you want real good chinese food, rather drive all the way down to Fountain. There's a real great chinese restaurant in the strip mall, where also the Safeway is. We've been there many times and will keep coming back. Definitely more worth the money!

Default This place is really dirty.

We went here today because my daughter loves a chinese buffet. Personally I am 20 pounds overweight and prefer not to go to a buffet. This place was so dirty (don't look at the floors or walls if you go here) Also, the bathrooms were worse than a dirty gas station restroom. The food was OK but the filth was a turn off. If you want good chinese food in a fairly clean environment go to Silver Pond which is right next to this place.

Can't say I agree on Empire. My wife and I went and were very dissapointed and will not return. Food was dried out (on the buffet steamer too long) or just not good. A few items were "ok" but I guess not up to our standards. Maybe it's a personal taste thing.

China Inn - its not nearly as big and impressive as the Empire Asian Buffet, but its really good. I think they only do buffet on weekdays.

I've been going to Empire Asian Buffet for several years now, maybe once every two or three months, and I've never seen the hygiene problems you're pointing out. I don't know if you caught them on a bad night, or I always got there right after they cleaned up. Regardless, I agree with vfrpilot. This place has a terrific selection, the sushi bar and Mongolian grill are huge assets, and I have no qualms with returning. YMMV.
