Default new home prices

I keep hearing about new home developments offerring big discounts. In checking the various sites, I can't see any idication of this (e.g. Indigo Ranch, Wolf Ranch, Cumbre Vista). Can someone direct me to the right place for this information? Thanks

The discounts will be offered by the builders, not by the community planners.

The places you mention are planned communities, that have a number of various builders building there. Best to research who's building there, then check their web sites and/or ads...or better, call 'em.

I looked on Trulia today, and it showed increases in average home prices in a bunch of the Colorado Springs area homes. Do not know that this is a "trend" yet, but worth a note.

The builders usually will not advertise when they offer discounts - you need to go see them in person or talk to them directly to negotiate such things.

Colorado Springs home prices experienced a big spike a couple of years ago then that spike fell back to the more steady state line. I think too many builders moved in at one time and tried to drive up prices on a monthly basis back in '05-'07. That bubble burst and things seem to be back on a steady (non artificial inflationary) track again. Here is the Zillow.com track of housing prices for Colorado Springs compared to the national average:
