Considering Moving to CS need advice
I’m considering accepting a new job in Colorado Springs and I have little time to move. Would anyone be able to tell me of some good areas for apartments that are reasonably priceed?

Okay, but first you have to make at least ten constructive posts on here, to prove you won't just be a one-post wonder who'll never come back to check your responses.

The whole city is reasonably priced, really.
For newest stuff, look north of Woodmen Road, or in that vicinity.
I prefer to tell people to look on the far north side, zips 80920 and 80921.
For funky old charm, look in center city zips 80903 or 80907.
If you want Powers Blvd corridor, below Woodmen, look at zip 80922.
Note, some smaller homes here are now as cheap to rent as some apartments.
Best of luck to you.

You can find some great small homes in the down town area. Look between Fillmore and Platte (they run east-west) and I-25 and Academy. That whole area has a lot of cool places. Use google maps and street view to check out the neighborhoods. If you will be working on the north or east side, definitely check out the Powers and Briargate Area.

My wife and I made a trip out here to try to find a place. We had a list of homes we had found online. None of them turned out to be very good. Your best options will be to just drive around and find rental signs. For homes, check out craigslist, remax, and if you do a google search for "real estate colorado springs", they have a system where you can search for homes and rentals and it uses the google maps system so you can see where they are. Remax also has a similar function.

Best rental site for homes in my opinion is www.rentals.com - it is the site that I found the most listings on when I was looking to rent at first when moving out here.

Rich:
1. Go to Google
2. Insert this: "colorado springs" rentals
or
3. Insert this: "colorado springs" apartments
You'll get all the usual major websites for rentals (of all types) or just for apartments. You can also use Real Estate Listings, Homes for Sale and Rental Property Listings – REALTOR.com®
Ya gotta be a bit careful with CraigsList, especially sending money to people you don't know, etc. Best to work with a realtor or some property management firm you find in the phonebook. Many people use CL without any problem, but there are shysters on CL who will fleece people who don't read the warnings that CL publishes. I wouldn't sign any contracts until I'd seen a place in-person, or had my licensed realtor/agent see it with their eyes.
Where is the job you might have here?
What other things matter to you about a place to live?
s/Mike
(I'm not a realtor, and not in the biz in any way).

Just be sure to stay clear of the apts on Chelton, Circle, Fountain Blvd. (Unless you are into dealing crack- LOL. JOKE everyone, don't hang me.) That doesn't mean stay clear of Fountain the town. Also check PPAR Website under rentals. Good luck!

I stayed in the Summit Apartments when I lived there 97-01. It's near the World Arena up behind the Target. They were income-based, but not too bad. I was new to the military so that was about all I could afford at the time. I only saw the SWAT team there once and a coroner once. Police / security seemed to patrol through pretty regularly. It was flanked my some condos and an old-folks community and a Benigans if I remember right.
