Yes. Crazy to say so, but I'm home where it's warm. The roads were a mess - I was glad to get home in one piece!!

After growing up with tons of snow and then spending the last 7 months before moving here in Oklahoma...I really did miss the snow. Unfortunately I'm sick so the chills and body aches are somehow taking away from the charm. Oh well, I can't go anywhere as it is. I'm just itching to get out and about!

Default I'm Loving It

I'm enjoying it greatly. Today I was out and about in tee shirt, shorts and sunscreen, drinking beer and eating bratwurst, at the ballpark. In Phoenix, AZ. I've extended my stay a day just to be sure the roads are e-z when I scoot home on Sunday.

Phoenix is nice, but the sun here is fierce, even in March. I had SPF50 sunscreen on my arms and only sat in the sun for 30 minutes, but my arm was stinging from the sun for hours, not even burned. It's flat here, and makes me appreciate the hilliness of COLO SPGS. The waitress at dinner said she was glad to be here where it's warm; she's from upstate NY. My neighbor will shovel my walk and driveway, she's a saint.

Y'all take care and stay safe.

WOW, I am totally amased that this was called a snow storm. Being from Upstate NY this was nothing. It was beautiful to see snow on the mountains and the temp. not so cold like it would be in NY. I enjoyed a nice walk around town! My kids enjoyed playing outside w/o 2 layers of clothes under snowsuits!

This storm wasn't as powerful as I first thought. It was windy (I just love looking out at my window and imagining I'm traveling down the freeway at 60 MPH during a snow storm ). But after it was all done and over with, this is all I woke up to this morning:

Not bad, but notice the road is clear. The snow fences didn't catch all that much snow. It still feels like we are in a drought. But I'm glad for any snow we can get, but believe me, we CAN get a lot more snow than this.

When I look around at the weather disasters all around us such as in Fargo, I have to admit, we don't have it too bad here.

This was a decent storm, but it was way overblown because it has been way too dry for way too long. And it's a tad late for a winter storm. No, this was a spring storm. I hope it does this at least weekly for the next two months, then get on with the sweet rainy summer...ahhh.

The main thing that made this qualify as a newsworthy event was the wind moreso than the snow itself, as the wind enabled it to meet the technical definitions of a blizzard. I've got some decent drifts in my yard, but in typical Colorado fashion, everything on pavement or concrete melted away yesterday. We were hoping for a bit more accumulation, but we're thrilled for the snow we did get!

I was looking forward to a nice big blizzard ... but no such luck. Here in Manitou Springs we were cheated. This past winter doesn't even qualify to be called a winter!
