I just moved from Woodland Park after living there for four years. My wife and I both commuted to the Springs everyday. So pardon me but I feel I am very well qualified to reply to this post.

I will admit there is a big difference between living on the east side (Wal-Mart area), living in the center of town and living on the west side (between Woodland Park and Divide).

I never said "stay away from the area." I merely offered up my four years of experience driving to and from the Springs five days a week for work.

My recommendation is not to do it.

Default building and living in woodland park

love the area and built our home and stayed at a woodland park house listed on homeaway during the interim. Love the mountains, streams, lakes etc...,however, limited things to do for our boys. Ready to leave this next spring, so expect them to want to drive at 16. Work in Pueblo live in the mountains since good paying jobs are scarce unless you enjoy managing a Casino. If you like hiking, biking fishing its the place to be

Hey William that is a long ride in my opinion. So I would rent a place up there first and then see how the commute works out. I value all the time I can with my family so I have always tried to have short commutes instead of wastin time driving. But it is alot nicer then West Monroe and a different pace of life. I live in Farmerville for a few years and I definitely will only go back for visits only. Godd luck on your move.
