Hi there,

I am in the process of writing a book about areas of the US with a surplus of single men. Now, I'm not too concerned with the dating scene in CS, but with AF Academy and Fort Carson nearby, it there a surplus of men there?

My book already includes Denver/Golden/Boulder, but should it include CS?
Any advice is welcome.

Columbia, MO

You could include Col Spgs. But it implies you'll also include all the other major military towns....to name a few...San Diego, Seattle, Col Spgs, El Paso, Fayetteville, NC, Norfolk, VA, Leavenworth, KS, Manhattan, KS, Fort Sill, OK, Fort Polk, LA, Beaufort, SC, etc.

By now you know enough to be leery of raw statistics as some demographic data showing large populations of young single men are in fact towns with prisons....not exactly the place to find Mr. Right, ehhh.

Leavenworth KS has both an Army base and a major prison...you get a TWOFER at that zip code!

I'd be curious if there are ANY towns with a major imbalance of women to men that AREN'T prison or military or college towns. I'd think major imbalances are uncommon, except maybe in areas like NW Colorado or Alaska where lots of oil field types are migrating for work.

I have heard many men complain about the lack of beautiful women here. I am wondering where to send you about this topic?? Most of the men at Fort Carson are deployed right now. My husband works at the Air Force Academy and from what I understand, many of them stay at the base- during their first year they have to. We also have Peterson Air Force Base, Shriever Air Force Base, and NORAD. I have heard many say that the night scene is lousy here. Not a lot of places to meet other singles. I don't know how true this is though.
