Default Need recommendations for good mowing/lawn care people

Before you all tell me "You can do this yourself!!" yeah, we tried that last summer and it didn't work out so well. I work full time during the summer while my hubby (teacher) stays home w/ the kids. He wasn't always getting to the lawn on the weekends or days off because I frequently work 5-6 days a week to take advantage of free childcare during the summer.

I am looking for a good company that will mow our front and backyards, edge, apply fertilizer, weed killer, etc. Twice a month, but would consider weekly during the summer if the price is right.

If you have personally worked with such a company, post your experiences and prices paid if you are willing to divulge, that would be really nice!

I used TruGreen in the past. While they were good, they were a little pricey and kept calling me to "up" my services....trees, pests, etc and I just got tired of it. Plus they don't mow. They just service the lawn. I'm really looking for labor here!

I use Gary's Lawn Service for a couple of things. Mainly aeration/fertilization in the spring and fall and sprinkler system blow out. Never used them for anything else, but I do believe they do all those other services you talked about. We've been happy with them over the past four years.

Charley's Castle Care is the one I use up here on the north end / Pine Creek / Briargate area. Call Charley at 719-282-8614.

He's fabulous and prices are reasonable.

He also does windows, inside and outside. We've used that service annually and it's WORTH it.
