We took the dogs for a walk in Cañon City along the Arkansas River today and heard a couple buzzing by. Going to put up my feeders tomorrow for the early scouts.

Nice. Let us know if any hit your feeders. I haven't heard any - I think I'll put the feeders out next week ... they should be around by then (I hope).

People on our Nextdoor (up on the Palmer Divide) have posted today saying they have heard and seen them. I haven't yet though.

I haven't either.

But since my screenshot yesterday, multiple spottings have been reported in Colorado. Maybe I'll put my feeders out a few days sooner than planned.

I haven't seen hummingbirds yet, but we've been inundated with other species. We had probably fifteen robins (no exaggeration) around our feeder the other day. We've even had multiple Northern Flickers at once, which is unusual for us. Tons of Blue Jays and Stellar's Blue Jays as well. That's in addition to the chickadees and finches. It's been quite a bird parade of late.

I didn't see one single robin last year, and none so far this year. I've had lots of them in the past. I have a photo with a bunch of robins massed around my birdbath.

But lots of finches - they build a nest in the same spot every year - on a corbel above my porch. They use the exact same material. I know this because the stuff makes a mess on my front steps as it floats down from above. This year I've rigged up a little hanging birdbath, and it's seeing a lot of action.

I have dozens of Robins hanging out at my house the past few weeks - they are really into the water I have out.

Well, that's where they all are then ... at your house.

I have a photo of a birdbath I used to have, surrounded by a bunch of robins hanging out around it. It was comical to see them trying to bath in it because it was so small.

I don't know why I'm not seeing any.

I hung my feeders out this morning. Sitting on the porch just now, one came up and drank a little out of each one.

Unfortunately, I don't know what kind it was. I'm never very good at identifying the little guys. I'm guessing maybe a broad-tailed, since that's the kind that's been reported in this area on the map. I was going to add mine to the map, but didn't see how to do that. Anyway, they're in Manitou!
