Let him try, as long as he knows that Rocky Mountain Oysters aren't oysters. They are the south end of a bull heading north!

Oysters? As in shellfish or the dreaded Rocky Mountain Oysters? If the former...well this really isn't the best place for it. I suggest somewhere on the coast for the best fresh oysters. You can get frozen at restaurants, but...

If you mean the latter, I have no idea. I won't touch 'em. For me, some things just weren't meant to be eaten.

Here's an article form the Gazette that might help. Good luck!...I think.

No, not the Rocky Mountain kind....we're from Oklahoma, so we've had plenty of opportunities for those! We know them as "calf fries" - PASS!

Ah....well that helps. Oysters in Colorado Springs....hmmm....to be honest we are not rife with seafood restaurants here, unfortunately. There are the usual suspects like Red Lobster and Joe's Crab Shack here in town. You can also find a Pappadeaux and a Landry's up on I-25 on the southern side of Denver if you are willing to go that far. The wife and I ate at Landry's a couple years ago and it was REALLY good.

There's a place near Manitou Springs called Castaways (I think that is the name). My wife ate there once and said it was horrid.

Sorry I am not much help here! This link might help in your search for seafood restaurants. As you'll see, it's kind of slim pickins here.

Always Fresh At Oscar's Tejon Street. Fresh Shucked Oysters, Cajun Food, Colorado Springs Restaurant Genuine Neighborhood Joint. Fine Dining at Affordable Prices.
I also heard that Carlo's Bistro and Oyster Bar is the way to go. I'm sure you can get some in Denver. Don't cheap out on oysters and make sure you know where they come from for best results. (Don't bother w/Red Lobster or Joe's.)

(Heading up to Seattle this summer for some oyster eating! )

Walter's Bistro also serves a very nicely-prepared oysters on the half shell appetizer.
