Good Camping Spots?
Hi everyone... I'm looking for some (tent) camp site recommendations. I'm 23 with no kids, so it doesn't have to be "family friendly." Also are there any mountain streams with camping around? I prefer streams/rivers to lakes. Anyway, thanks for the help!

Anywhere in Eleven Mile Canyon south of Lake George would fit that description. Not sure if they need to be reserved or not, I don't think so though.

We camp a lot in Park County off Hwy 24 by Lake George and Terryall Lake. This is just past 11 mile and Round Mtn campground. I have also camped along Chalk Creek in Nathrop, Saguache Park down by Saguache/Gunnison (postcard perfect camping there along Saguache creek, bathrooms available, rolling hills and snow capped mtns, plenty of open space with pines and aspens...just breath taking!), along the Arkansas, Hayden Pass, Estes Park, Winter Park (Snow Mtn Ranch by the YMCA- FUN!!), Walsenburg's Lake Lathrop (water sports allowed and a swimable beach).
However, we mostly camp up off Park County Rd. 31 where we could go 4wheeling.

The best camp sites are found backpacking. My favorites are in the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. Look for Crestone Peak area as an example.

Haven't camped there ourselves yet, but Phantom Canyon Road has a lot of campsites and a stream runs all the way through it.

Agree with Elevenmile. The Riverside campground is very nice.
An excellent alternative is not too far away from there. Go past Lake George, and turn North on Taryall Road. Go straight ahead about 15-20 miles. the Spruce Grove Campground will be on your right. The drive in spots are unremarkable, but with a short walk over a footbridge spanning the creek, there are several very nice campgrounds. Two miles past Spruce Grove is the Twin Eagles Trailhead and Campground. Also very nice.
