I was reading where Colorado had a small earthquake. Just wondering if you could feel it in Colorado Springs?

No, nothing at all. It was a 3.9 and people felt it only in a small area near the event. TV reporter said there are over a hundred of these every day all over the world. Nothing to worry about, it was a good hundred miles away.

That one that Mike was referring to was near Eads, a good ways east of Colorado Springs.

KKCO, channel 11 news in Grand Junction, has reported that that a 4.4 earthquake has been reported 12 miles north of Craig. It happened late last night. From interviewing the folks up there all indications (so far) are no damage. It WAS felt, however by lots of people. I'll do some checking and we'll see what the 5:30 news says about it and get back on this thread if there is any other news on this.

Didn't feel it. The only one I've ever felt was a 3.something centered around Castle Rock, years ago, and it was barely detectable. In fact, I didn't think any of it until later when I heard about the earthquake and said to myself, "Oh, that's what that was!"

same here otowi. We had one about that size in Pennsylvania back in the 90's. It just felt like a very large semi driving by rattling the windows. Didn't know what it was until I read it in the paper the next day.
I am just interested in earthquakes, volcanoes and weather related events so I thought I would ask if it was felt. Thanks all.

geeze we just had a 7 and a 6 here in Japan about a wekk ago and I have gotten so used to the smaller ones that I didn't even notice the 7 when it happened my husband had to draw my attention to it. I can't imagine ever really noticing a 3 unless you were literally sitting on top of its epicenter.

The one the other day was a 7.1 but the epicenter was far enough away that it wasn't very noticeable. The 6. something that came along 2 days after was enough to make my jump out of bed and run for cover but that didn't even manage to knock the pictures off the walls or cause any damage. I would say most that I have experienced here have been 4-6's Heres a cool little video about the 7 that hit the other day you can see it through the eyes of a traffic light
