Found a couple houses in Sundown I like for $200K. It seems to be a nice neighborhood...anything funky I should know about?

With the way the market is right now, what is a good first offer to put on a house in that area?

I guess I need to read the next chapter of Home Buying for Dummies!

A mile south of Woodmen Rd / Powers Blvd.

An area between Powers and Austin Bluffs, bisected by Dublin.

A good area, convenient to a lot.

In D11 school district: Scott Elem, Jenkins Middle, Doherty HS.

Thread on Doherty HS.

FYI: The other side of Powers put the OP in D49; getting north of Woodmen gets D20.

Overall, Sundown is in a good area for all purposes.

The D11 schools in the Northern part of the district also tend to be the highly rated ones for D11.

Default Sundown neighborhood near Austin Bluffs/T Gap?

Hi everyone! I am interested in buying a house in the Sundown neighborhood, east of Austin Bluffs and north of Templeton Gap and Stetson Hills Drive. Basically it's between Austin Bluffs and Powers. Any thoughts on this neighborhood? It's got houses in my price range, and I really cant go any higher.

Is this a safe neighborhood? Quiet? All that good stuff?

I would appreciate any and all input. Thank you!!

I actually live in the Sundown area and it is a nice, quiet neighborhood. Scott Elementary is a great school, as is Jenkins Middle School and Doherty High.

It seems like a quiet neighborhood until vandals hit and they have destroyed my truck tires which ended up costing me $900.00. Gang related punks.
