Question Colorado Springs homes

We are visiting Colorado Springs in late March on a recon trip to see if we can afford to live there. I would love to have an older, craftsman style home (about 1,700 s.f.) in an older, safe, well-kept neighborhood. We are early 60s. I have looked at all the realtor sites and still can't get a grip on what we can get for our budget. Our total budget (property purchase plus up-grades & fix-ups) will be $250,000. That will have to cover good windows, carpet, bath & kitchen remodel, probably knock out a wall or two. Are we in the ball-park or wasting our time? There seem to be new homes in the craftsman style (in particular, we notice Harry Wolf company) but we have a small motor home and the new homes will be in subdivisions with restrictions which will probably not allow the camper to be parked on our lot. Any comments/information would be very much appreciated - Thanks in advance.

Susan, I will send you a seperate e-mail with a few listings. It might not be just what you are looking for, but it should give you a better idea of what's out there.
