Default Commute from Manitou to COS airport area?

It's been a while since I've been on here, since I've been looking for a teaching job and unsure if I'd be able to get one.

My DREAM is to live in a mountain town, on one acre of land with at least a two bedroom house. I don't care about access to big-city amenities. I've been in Houston for 28 years and I never do anything but work (teach), and come home. It's too hot here to do anything outside. I'm an empty-nester, single, and my children are grown and away.

I've am certified in Colorado to teach English and ESL. I still don't have a job, but I'm actively interviewing right now (by telephone, since I'm in Houston). I have applied literally all over the state in the areas where I'd like to live. The interviews I've had so far are in Harrison No. 2 district, which is near the COS airport.

My question is: If I wanted to live in Manitou or OCC, how long would it take me to drive to the Harrison school district (roughly near the airport)? Thank you for your response.

Shouldn't be more than 30 minutes. Maybe as few as 20.

This is an EASY town to drive....at least IMO, having spent the last 31 years in Fairfax County, VA, home of some of the nation's worst traffic problems and gridlock.

I hope you get here. You'll love OCC, and you'll love Colorado.

s/Mike
