That's in Cimarron Hills. I've no real experience with that area, but have driven through several times and it looked fine to me. The crime maps don't seem to cover that area, so hard to tell about crime unless someone with more knowledge speaks up on here.

I drove out there for an assignment a few months ago. it seemed nice enough. Very residential. Very close to the plains. But did not seem like a high crime area at all. Pretty close to the airport, which could be a plus or minus. Can;t speak for the schools at all.

Get a meth lab test kit. $60 Will tell you if the house had a meth lab in it. This should be a standard test for purchasing any home / real estate these days. RP

Houses where the police seized a meth lab should be in this listing. If the lab was never seized by the police it may not be in the listing. The listing does NOT contain the addresses of homes where the problems were "mitigated" by whatever means.

hopefully you are in area and can visit it~ older housing~ under Peterson flight path~ make note of airport noise~ not many bad sections of CS because of high military presence~ but high military presence do bother some~ is in area close to what everyone calls worse section of town~ which is, by the way, exactly where I live. So come, look, make up your own mind

Thank you all for replying. We are military and Air Force so we are pretty use to the airplanes over head. But we are still in Va so no way we can drive around to check it out. But I will be flying out in a couple weeks. Hopefully I can find out more over that weekend.

I lived off of Mineola Ct. (right down the street) back in the late 80s. When I had to move this last May (landlord is selling his house) I had looked at moving back in that area for the ultra cheap rents in those four-plexes. I decided for this single woman I would rather pay the extra for the safety and live closer to my family.
Anyhow, it's not a bad area per se but it's not at the top of my list either. I wouldn't be opposed to living there if I had a roommate or boyfriend.
The airport being close is kind of a drag but you get used to it.
It's an okay area though. The houses in that particular area were built in the late 70s so things aren't totally out of date but as good as tract homes for the late 70s can be. The school is Dist 49 (I think) and it's not bad at all. Shopping is close, easy, easy drive to Pete Field...the only thing I really disliked was trying to get home from Fillmore and I-25 to there when it snowed...but since you are stationed out of Pete Field, not a problem.
(Took me two hours to get home during a pretty serious storm one day. Cruising in my little Honda driving around the boneheads that had crashed their Jeeps and trucks because...they're invincible!)
