BEST PASTRAMI: East Coast Rest & Deli (Powers & Stetson Hills or Downtown) same pastrami served at Katz's in the City.BEST MEATBALLS: Joey's Pizzeria (Briargate blvd & Chapel Hills)in the strip mall. Joey the owner oversees it all, Calzones and Pizza are excellent too!

Default Good Meatballs/Pastrami

It's not easy - I'm from back east and I don't think anyone here does it right.

However - Savelli's Pizza in Manitou Springs (on the main drag before you get into town) make some pretty good meatballs - I always get a calzone with them, though they do have a sub sandwich as well.

Then there's Broadway Deli up on N. Academy. Mollica's on Garden of the Gods road has really good italian sausage, so maybe their meatballs are good, too, but I've never tried them.

Trivelli's on N. Nevada near the hospital is terrific, particularly their Philly Cheese Steaks. Family owned and going strong for over 40 years. I heard they've opened a 2nd one on Austin Bluffs, along with more seating.

Talk about Philly Cheese Steaks, the best one I ever had was at the All American Sports Cafe up on Voyager, in the strip mall, about a mile south of North Gate Rd, or a mile north of Interquest / New Life Church.

Darned thing was big enough for two people, or one really big guy. Best tasting one I ever had. Great fries, too. Dare ya!

Pastrami Sandwich? Broadway Deli, hand's down.

Meatball Sandwich? That's a little tougher. You might want to try Boriello Brothers Pizza or NYPD Pizza.

East Coast Deli off Powers and Stetson Hills is not bad. It does have an East Coast feel to it. Pastrami on Rye was good. It's no Carnegie Deli in Manhattan, but it's pretty good. They have home made pickles that are good also.
