Pet limit for HOAs in northgate/Gleneagle area (Colorado Springs: HOA, house)

We are narrowing in on our neighborhood search and based on the needs of our son and speaking to various special Ed personnel and it looks like some of northgate and Gleneagle areas are in the boundaries of a school we are seriously considering for our children (DCC). Is there anyway to find out which HOA's have pet restrictions that are more strict/stringent than the city's? I'd rather spend my time looking at properties that have the same allowances as the city. from what I've read it seems like we won't really know until read get seriously interested in a house then get access to the bylaws. It would save a lot of time if anyone knew something about the subdivisions up there so we can steer clear of what won't work for us.

Sadly, Coloradan dog owners have been so irresponsible to, and disrespectful of their neighbors...it's forced HOAs to place the highest restrictions possible on people who wish to have the privilege of owning a dog. Good Luck.

I think the city allows 3 dogs max. I'm not sure of HOAs.

I believe the city allows four pets, whether that be dogs, cats, or pigmy goats. And ten rabbits and or chickens. No roosters. If you have more than 37,000 sq ft lot (a little shy of an acre) you can have four other hoofed animals like horses and cows.

Everything I've researched says up to 4 pets in the city of Colorado Springs. These guys stay indoors with us. They really only go outside to potty (which we promptly pick up) or to hang with us. My husband and I do agility and obedience training with them. One of them sticks by my sons side, not trained as a service dog but more comfort for him. Thanks.

Four dogs within the city limits is correct. HOA's can impose their own limits. Getting info out of hoas can be difficult when you are just looking. You can try googling the subdivision name, quite a few have websites and will have the covenants available to view.

We have a neighbor (not touching property, but within neighborhood) with a rooster and at times he has other animals. At one point he had a goose. I'm not telling the city, I love walking past the fence and calling to the animals as I go. He is responsible with them; I've never heard that rooster sound off before 8 in the morning.

PS. There is no HOA in this neighborhood and only a few times that one would have been useful. All instances where it would have been useful came down to one particular house, but the residents of that house have changed their behavior over the last few months and there is no longer any problem.

Gleneagle isn't within city limits, it's part of El Paso county.

Thanks. Looks like based on that most of gleneagle is out. Pleasant view might still be an option as they do not include that in the Gleneagle association based on those documents. Hard to believe all of the families in Gleneagle only have two pets. I appreciate the info.
