Group: I hear that a Denver chain, Smash Burger, is opening on Friday at 3707 Bloomington, which is located near the movies, just off N. Carefree / Powers / Cinema Point / Bloomington.

Anyone tried them?

Default Manitou Springs Breakfast Place

Anyone looking for a really great breakfast ought to try the European Cafe on the main drag in Manitou. The BEST home fries around and breakfast offerings that are a bit different that you're used to seeing.

It's really good. Right across from the Spa building.

JITB was mobbed for weeks, but we finally got there yesterday. That sure isn't the JITB that we used to have back east. Been 25 years or so since we last visited one. We stopped going after a couple of kids died from eating tainted ground beef at JITB in the Seattle area, but that was decades ago. The new JITB is really something, you can get an egg sandwich ALL DAY, not like that clowns at the golden arches who still don't seem to know WHO the customer is. I'm going back in a week or two and try one of the breakfast bowls, egg man that I am.

They're building another JitB at Austin Bluffs and Academy. Behind Old Chicago. My guess is it'll be open by early summer.

[Although, I hardly put JitB in the "Great New Food Places" category.]

I kick myself for not going there while they were nearby. You really need to support you local eateries.

It's not exactly brand new, but I hadn't visited Plate World Cuisine until yesterday, and it was terrific.

It's at Briargate Parkway and Chapel Hills Drive. Doesn't look like a lot from the outside, but walk through the doors and it's remarkably elegant. Wonderful mix of cuisines: Asian, Pacific, traditional American.

I had the Ahi Tuna over Bowtie Pasta. It was so good it defies description. Perfect seared. Perfectly rare. Sushi-grade tuna.

"Plate" is certainly comparable to the other fine dining restaurants in town, and I would put it on the same list as the Blue Star, NOSH, Peppertree, etc.

SmashBurger - The Best Burger You Have Ever Tasted!

Got there the other week. A good decent burger.

When in Phoenix the other week we tracked down an In-N-Out Burger location and were glad we did, the burger was marvelous.
