I believe I've bought from them in years past; checking with them now on a particular candy. Thank you.

You're probably familiar with this site, but in case you're not:

Sky Bar candy bar - OldTimeCandy.com

There is a vintage candy store in Manitou - Goldminers Candy and Fudge.

Default Freddy's Steak Burgers

A new Freddy's Steak Burgers opened yesterday on Interquest Pkwy (I-25 exit 153), one of several fast food places in a row of eateries next to the gas station. The place reminds me a lot of Steak and Shake or In-N-Out and there are 3 others in the city. The burger was really good and the thin-cut fries were excellent. It's noisy in the place as there's no sound deadening at all.

Current recommendations (downtown, ONE, westside, or southside preferred) for a good hot pastrami sandwich where they are not obsessed with serving fat-less meat (which means flavor-less meat)?

You know, I hesitate to order pastrami or reuben sandwiches unless I'm back east. That said, earlier this month I had lunch at this place:

Good Karma Coffee Lounge & Deli | Historic Manitou Springs

It's been there awhile but I'd never been (even though I live here).

I know you're asking about pastrami, but this might be the next best to what you're craving (because you may not find a good pastrami sandwich around here!). I had a giant, delicious, drippy reuben sandwich, and it had plenty of fat on it. I was pleasantly surprised to find a good reuben right in my own back yard. The bread slices were huge. It was a good sandwich, and so was the accompanying homemade potato salad.

You might want to try it if you're ever in Manitou.

Thanks for the recommendation! Wish they served pastrami (even a sort-of one, compared to back east delis). But I don't like Reubens at all, although it sounds like for those who do this would be an excellent place.

Default In-N-Out Burger Coming to Colorado Springs

Yes, it seems to be true, In-N-Out Burger is coming to Colorado Springs, at Interquest and Voyager, along with a distribution warehouse which will obviously support expansion along the Front Range.

Story is here.

New places I've tried lately...

Skirted heffer. Damn good veggie burger and awesome fries.

Shri Ganesh Indian restaurant up on Voyager. If you're not aware, it's the same owner as Little Nepal and every bit as good.

Went to a little German restaurant tonight called The Potato House near Maizeland and Academy. All the food was excellent!
