Smile Young Teacher looking to MOVE

Hello all,

I am looking into moving to the Colorado Springs area in 2010. I am currently living in the Vail Valley, and have been for the past 4 years. I'm over it, it is too small for me; and well, I don't know how to snowboard or ski (I know, pathetic ).

I am a certified Elementary Teacher, but have spent the past 4 years teaching 6th grade at the middle school level. I have taught Math, English, Social Studies, Pro-Math, Student Council, Gifted and Talented program, as well as coached many sports...I don't think finding a job will be my problem.

What I am concerned with is finding a Church home where there are others in my age group. I am 26 and looking to make some new friends in the area. I would like to find a church that has a Young Adult group (such as a college/career group). Also, I would enjoy going to Adult Sunday School.... both things I haven't been able to find in my small mountain community.

If you have any suggestions on places to check out for churches or parts of town where 20 somethings go for fun or to relax and have a beer after work, send those suggestions my way.

Also, I am planning to get a dog, finally, once I leave my small mountain town; which means I would need to find an apartment complex or home to rent which allows large dogs.

My plan is to start visiting the area once a month and check out churches and possible places to live on the weekend. Thanks in advance for any help!

New life church is a pretty big church. I'm sure they have a group that will fit what your looking for. Good luck on your move and welcome to the area.

New Life is also Family First. Seems sort of cultish. Sorry Family Firsters, just my observation since being here for a year.

By the way, Red Rock Church is pretty cool! It has a great band and is pretty hip. You can check it out at www.redrockchurch.org .
