We happen to be visiting here right now. It snowed and we haven't seen any of the streets being plowed. Why?

How deep is it? Snow tends to melt pretty quickly in that part of the state.

It snowed about 4-5 inches. A good accumulation on the streets. Should have been plowed because it did not all melt away and now is frozen. Just wonder if the city ignores the snow and doesn't plow.

Pretty much the rule is that they focus on the major arteries, then the secondary streets off artery streets and if a neighborhood has more than 6 inches, they will plow those.

On my way to work today (about 1:45), Academy Blvd. from Vickers to Briargate Blvd was fine. Vickers was fine too. (plowed) It was mostly dry with some ice in spots on the way back.

I think given their resources, they do a decent job.

They do major roads first. They get to smaller streets later, usually it is melted by then, though.

I think they are amazing here. They don't work on the weekends. I have never seen anything like that. It is very dangerous to drive here and even more so the other drivers. I am not impressed with the plowing here.

I read that they aren't plowing residential streets anymore due to funding. I think I read it either on a news page or on springsgov.com

Here I found it:
City of Colorado Springs - City Snow Response

Here is a direct quote if you don't want to read it...
"The Street Division does not respond to residential streets unless there is at least 6" of snow and primary and secondary routes are plowed. Then the Street Division will dispatch snow plow drivers to clear a single lane on residential streets, as necessary and based upon storm severity, accumulation and accessibility."

I saw a ton of plows all weekend long on N. Powers, even saw some more today. They've been out there.

I was out there this weekend and saw more snow plows in private lots than on the main streets Sunday morning. The plows near the post office off Garden of the Gods Road pushed the snow off the entrance for the postal vehicles, making big piles in the middle of Pinon Valley.
