Default CS Restaurants

My wife and I will be visiting over memorail day weekend as a mini vacation/ checking out the area for a potential move. I'd love to try some local food joints. They don't have to be fancy but that's ok if they are. We pretty much like a little bit of everything. Thanks in advance.

One place is the Penrose Room at the Broadmore. Its the only 5 diamond restaurant in the state of Colorado and its my favorite restaurant in the state.

Jorge's in Old Colorado City has the hottest green chile I've ever had. Definitely would recommend for Mexican food.

I love Bird Dog BBQ. Also, I've heard great things about Drifters.

I like Conway's Red Top, It's a very nice atmosphere with great service and pretty good cheeseburgers.

Other than that, and the Old Chicago downtown, I haven't been to a restaurant in the Springs that I would call good.

You need to define what you'd consider to be "good." If Conway's Red Top and Old Chicago make your list, and nothing else does, your definition is different from mine. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Want inexpensive, yet tasty food? Gunther Toody's is (in my opinion) far better than Red Top. El Taco Rey certainly comes to mind.

But, if you want a dining experience that you can't get anywhere else, the Penrose Room is the best restaurant in all of Colorado (that's not just my opinion; it's also the opinion of every top-end rating system). How about the Cliff House? Better still, try the Craftwood Inn, and experience dishes like deer and elk and boar.

Want something newer and more ecclectic? How about NOSH?

There's SO much more to dining in Colorado Springs than Red Top.
