Old school diner. You can get shakes or real, live malts, and they bring the whole blender container out, just like you used to see a few decades ago. They also know how to make a chocolate phosphate. I haven't seen them anywhere else for many years.

What is that (chocolate phosphate) and why would you eat/drink one?

Slayton's BBQ, Bird Dog BBQ, Thai Basil, & for fine dining Mozaic is very good with great views of the Rampart Range.

It's a throwback to the 50s. A little chocolate syrup mixed with unflavored seltzer. Less syrupy and sweet than a soda, and a completely different taste.

I guess enough people didn't drink them when they were in fashion, which is why they're no longer in fashion. I kinda like 'em. Nice chage of pace from what you can get at a typical burger joint. Of course, a real malt (as opposed to just a shake) is awesome, too.

Thanks for the info - maybe I'll try one sometime. I do like real malts!
