Along the New Santa Fe trail, there is a trailhead called Ice Lake which is actually on AF Academy property, just off of South Gat Rd. Does any one know if or how I may access this trailhead without military ID or stickers?

Treedonkey, to visit the Academy and access the trails there, you have to check in with the Visitor's Center and get a pass. It's pretty painless. I'm a military retiree so I'm not exactly sure if those are still the procedures, but I can't imagine they've changed. This link should tell you what you need to know.

I used to bike the Santa Fe Trail and exit at Ice Lake and pedal over to the Airfield. I have a contractor's pass, but never once was stopped. I always wondered about this apparent breach in their security. Maybe they don't don't figure people who walk or bike are security risks.

Right... Anyone can ride/walk the entire trail assuming you enter from the north or south of the USAFA. What's not clear is if I can enter or exit the trail from Ice Lake. Specifically, I'm looking to run to that trailhead and then have someone pick me up there in a car, but neither of us are military or military contractors. I'll try checking with the visitors center. Thanks for the suggestions.
