I'm thinking of moving to Saguache or close by - any thoughts or suggestions? I'm moving from Denver and I know Saguache is very tiny - has anyone had experiences in Saguache?

It's a very pretty area, it's located in the northwest corner of the San Luis Valley, Saguache is right up against the mountains. You have easy highway access to the larger towns of Buena Vista and Alamosa. Also you're about an hour drive from Gunnison.

Brutally cold in the winter, be prepared.

Should be a good place if you like isolation and solitude and don't need or want any amenities of the larger towns..

What else do you want to know about it?

DenverGirl, for more info use the search tool with the terms Saguache or SLV or Alamosa to get the threads on living in the SLV.

Well, it's pretty and remote. You gotta want to really live down there. It's about 1.5 hrs south of my locale. Good place to live off-grid.
