WOW- I "stumbled" upon this website and am now addicted. Kudos to those that keep this site going and to the wealth of real-world Colorado information that is provided. I have learned more from this site than any book!
Our family is seriously researching a move out to Colorado. We are Floridians that want to move out of this state~tired of the weather, crime, congestion, etc. We have visited Colorado (skiing many times) and fell in love with the state. We have a 9 day trip planned beginning on the 12th of July to explore areas that interest us.
We are leaning towards areas/cities outside of Colorado Springs. My husband is a Firefighter/Paramedic and I am a Special Education Teacher. We are hoping that CS will offer both of us more job opportunities than some of the other cities that we have researched. I am interested to hear from any Firefighters/EMS personnel that could give some tips to the hiring process. Is there a waiting list/more applicants than positions, etc?
Any recommendations for a city near Colorado Springs?
Some of our "wants" or shoud I say "would likes"
Medium-Small sized town-good schools-low crime-access to big city amenities within 30 or so miles- space between neighbors. Looking in the price range of $250-$300,00.......
