The state fair made a profit and will be staying in Pueblo!!!!!!!!!!!

This is from the Chieftain:

Colorado State Fair manager: Event turning a profit, in no danger of moving from Pueblo

As it seems to do every year, relocation of the Fair to the Denver Metro area came up during conversations at the state level. Noting that the Fair is in no danger of moving, Cummings said the expo's continually improving financial picture should go a long way toward negating that relocation talk. "As our financials settle in -- and next year, when this year's audited financials are available -- I think those who review the documents will see that we've made significant progress and will continue to make progress in the future." A future that does not include relocation to the north.

I'd be shocked to see proof of this.

The problem with the State Fair isn't so much a Pueblo problem.

The part of Colorado that doesn't include Widefield north to Fort Collins will support it and even need it.

The problem is the Colorado State Fair itself, how they demand it be run, what they require from vendors, how they set up pricing, etc.

It's a crappy event and needs to be fixed from the inside out.

Really? While you can always improve the fair I love it and its mission. I go almost everyday and joined the State Fair Foundation on the Buckle Level to make sure the fair stays in Pueblo.

I read your article.

I guess with that and ZZ Top helping out, it turned out ok.

Say you're a vendor in Pueblo and want to run a food stand. You gotta buy almost everything from the State Fair wrt cups, napkins, silverware, etc. and they gouge the heck out of them. So you wind up paying 15 bucks for a 7 dollar Passkey.
