Hello and Happy 4th to all:
The time has been deemed that we are moving to Salida in Jan 08. I know, I know middle of winter must be out of our mind's, well maybe we are but no more then most of america.
We will be moving with a substantial amount of resource's, and will be looking to find a place to call home prior to departure. I would like to know from someone who "actually live's in Salida" to know if there are any favorite place's in your heart to live in Salida, again we realize that it's not a spralling metropolis, but everyone has their favorite, right?
Thanks for your imput.

Default Salida article

Hi Ali07 - Suggest you search The Denver Post - Colorado's home-page for breaking news, weather, sports, local events and entertainment for a good article published earlier this week about Salida growth. Good luck. Sumisu

Ah, another person to help bid the real estate market up to ridiculous heights in places like Salida. A real estate salesperson's dream, and a nightmare for the middle class folks that actually would like to live in rural Colorado and financially make it in the local economy. It's not hard to figure out why a lot of the locals all across the Rocky Mountain West tend to dislike the transplants who have a wad of money burning a hole in their pocket.

Ed Quillen did a bit on his home town in response to that in the editorial part of the DP today:

The Denver Post - Getting around Salida

He's been there for 37 years and knows Salida.

Default Salida Move

We moved here from W. of Chicago (Rockford area) this past Jan.
Now reside just north of Salida on 291 and enjoy it. It's been quite a year.
As we are relatively new transplants our perspective might be of value.

Contrary to the previous posts, we found people in Colorado to be exceptionally welcoming and friendly to us transplants when we lived there for three years. Now we are about re-plant ourselves. And - even worse, we'll be foreign transplants!

Ali07, I hope you are happy in Salida.
