I have done a read through of alot of the forum posts trying to get a feel for some of the answers to what appears to be a common question. I was hoping to get some extra specifics or maybe even a brand new insight with this post.

I will be starting a research posistion at CU HSC in early 07, and my wife is currently looking for a newspaper reporting job. I have read and heard about Aurora, the consensus being south (as far down as Illif which on the map is pretty far south). She has looked in the springs paper(s) as a possibility and Castle Rock certainly would fit that for both of us, but I have heard about what 25 is like. I am not familiar with the light rail setup so I am not sure if it would be something we could use

My questions are- If you wanted to be within 10-15 miles of the hospital what neighborhoods would you look at?

Can anyone provide some better landmarks as to the "nice" areas of Aurora, areas on the western end perhaps?

Also any areas that have some newish construction on condos/townhouses in any of the safer, nicer regions in the metro area would be useful

Thanks in advance for the advice

CU at Fitsimmons? or 9th?

do you have something against living in the city? House? Apt.? Are you looking to rent or buy?

Community likes? dislikes?

Springs to Denver 1.5 hours on I-25 in good weather.

Starting at CU on 9th, but the lab will be moving to fiztsimmons the beginning of 2008, so something that is relatively close to both would be nice

Looking to buy, condo or townhouse preferred. I have no problem with the city but I would like to be in a quiet area, preferrably not too far away from shopping (I am sure just like everyone else
